Chrome Wheels – Today’s Most Popular Automotive Accessories

There is a sort of fascination with chrome wheels these days, and more and more people are having them installed on their vehicles. The increased durability is a definite plus, but people are looking to them more for their shine than anything else.

Chrome wheels are known more for their sheen and unique look than anything else, especially in comparison with drab aluminum wheels. They seem to sparkle in the sun, and even in the dark they are noticeable. This is their main draw -- though the fact that they can take more of a beating than the other types is certainly a plus. Before purchasing any, do some research and take some things into consideration.

If you never bought wheels for your car then you need to be aware of the size of your current ones. This can be found at relatively easily by simply looking at the side of the tire or measuring the rims themselves. Some of the more common sizes are 15 inches, 16 inches, 17 inches, and even 20 inches. Sometimes you can get chrome wheels that are larger than your factory ones, but you should consult with a professional before investing in any, and especially before installing them.

You can expect to spend quite a bit more on wheels made of chrome then you would on those that are made of aluminum, even if they are only chrome plated. Chrome is, as said before, much more durable than aluminum is. This makes a big difference if you happen to get any car wrecks or run over any curbs, even if your wheels are just plated.

Wheels that are chrome-coated will not be as expensive as full-chrome varieties, though they will still be more expensive than those made of other metals. The exact style of the wheel will also have an impact, with the more decorative and showy ones being more expensive. You may find that some stores will carry a style for a lower price than other stores -- this is often because certain styles are made in both plated and full-chrome varieties. This can result in a price range going anywhere from $300 to $800, depending on the brand and the style. Comparison shopping is a must to get exactly what you are looking for.

Though many feel that investing in wheels made of chrome is only a cosmetic purchase, the fact that they are extreme and durable also makes them a practical purchase. High quality tires combined with chrome wheels can make any outdoor driving trip a breeze, and you can be sure that your wheels will be completely safe no matter what terrain you are in. These types of wheels do have a use, it is up to you to use them that way.

If you want to have a cool car, chrome rims is the way to go.

Dream Car

One of the perks of being a celebrity is having the money to buy the kind of car that you like. If I had all the money in the world, I would buy the 1964 Aston Martin BDS used in the movie Gold finger .007. This is one of the rarest cars ever.

There are only two 1964 Aston Martin BDS that were manufactured ever to be exact. Only one is still alive and it was auction off. Get this, some of the gadgets used in the movie is still installed. Whoever owns the car now must be one hell of a millionaire.

Koenigsegg personally delivered the car to Leno. Yes, in case you are wondering, he is the founder of this brand. He went all the way to Leno's South California home to hand the car and the keys to the chin man.

He has another car, EcoJet. He was recently photographed driving this baby and it produces over 750 horsepower and 700 lb/ft of torque while churning out 48,000 rpm and it uses biodiesel as fuel. So he has cars and he is concerned about the environment.

He seems to love classic cars but is also developing a contemporary taste. He owns a 2011 BMW M3. Yeah, that's a one-way ticket to awesomeness. Imagine owning next year's model of BMW. Wow seems to be an understatement.

I can't afford that so I will just be content at looking at this baby from my computer screen. However, I am planning to buy a vintage Camaro. I will probably make a lot of modification but that is not important. I'm willing to sweat it out. I'll start with the rims and tires. I always favor Good Year tires. Wish me luck.

Cheap Rims And Tires

A really awesome rim can add hot points to your car or truck. Finding good quality cheap rims will certainly will make the whole experience better for a car owner. To a certain extent, I can even say that a rim starts and ends the overall look of a car.

What Is It For?
The rim holds the tire. That is actually what the rim really is. However, because people eventually reinvented almost all the functions of a car part, it has also come to mean as the wheels bared of a hubcap. This evolution has greatly affected the way the driver handles the car. The larger the rim, the better the handling, that is the rule of thumb. If you are a city driver, I suggest you use an alloy rims because they are lighter. It makes it easier for the driver to take the car to the direction desired.

There are several types of rims that are the most popular such as the spinning rims, the chrome rims and custom rims. Under each one, you will find a whole lot of other kinds and style but those are the main categories, you could say. The spinning rim is the kind that spins even the car is on a stop. It makes me dizzy but it sure looks cool. In most kinds, you just attach the part that pins but recently, there are kinds that integrate that part that spins onto the rim itself. If you are the flashy kind of drive who likes his car being noticed, then this is for you.

Different Styles For Different Folks

Steel wheels are the usual default of many cars. This is an ok rim. It is a bit heavy compare to the more expensive ones but, as I've said, it won't be put there if it is going to damage your car. If you just want to change or upgrade your rim, there are many options out there. The most popular nowadays is the chrome rim. It is also the most expensive. It is bright and it screams of attention and it gets it. Now, for the really attention seekers out there, the spinning chrome wheels are popular. These are the kinds that continue to move even when the car stops.

For those that are simply being vain, the custom rims are for you. This is anything that a car owner did just to make his car looks good. They don't usually make the car faster or anything that can boost its performance.

There really is no standard rule in choosing the kind of rim for you. The struggle is where to find the cheap rims that you will like. Now, that you know the kinds, you can explore better. The first thing you should go to is read car blogs. There are hundreds of them and ask those that are in the know where to find the cheap rims. Next, make your rounds on different small and big shops. They will be more than happy to let you feel, touch, examine and ask things about the rim you are checking out.
